Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes

Amongst the most popular cranes in the construction business is hydraulic cranes. They are utilized to construct everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to buildings and skyscrapers.

Cranes come in a huge range of models, styles and sizes. These different models enable the operators and owners to perform many more functions in their industry. Choosing the right kind of crane is crucial for making sure that the material could be efficiently and safely transported to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.

Truck Cranes

Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really useful for building sites where a crane is required in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane could be driven easily from one place to another.

Furthermore, the cranes could be transported to various construction sites on the road as they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport expenses at the end of the day.

One drawback of a truck crane is that it is not stable enough sitting on tires alone in order to be able to lift the major loads that a hydraulic crane can handle. Hence, so as to fix this issue, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.

Crawler-Mounted Cranes

Crawler cranes feature huge tracks on the bottom of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction machinery like bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction locations successfully.
